Ingredients for Christmas New Cookies
Flour – 1 ¾ cup
Brown Sugar – 1 cup
Cold Water – ¼ cup
Butter – 6 tbsp
Baking Soda – 1 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Cinnamon Powder – ½ tsp
Almonds -- ½ cup [blanched]
Method of the Preparation of the Christmas New Cookies
Cream the butter and sugar and add the cold water, mixing gently. Add the dry ingredients sifted together. Add the blanched almonds. Mix well with the hands and press into a long smooth sausage about 2 in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and keep in refrigerator for overnight,
Next morning with a sharp knife slice thinly, place the pieces on an ungreased baking tin and bake lightly brown in a moderate oven. Remove as soon as cooked.
